      MacDropAny synchronisatie add-on Dropbox

Dropbox kennen we allemaal.

MacDropAny werkt kinderlijk eenvoudig.

Sparrow 1.5 Mac email client update

      via theverge.com

Popular Mac email client Sparrow (which is coming soon to iOS) has been updated to version 1.5, adding Dropbox, image blocking, and improved search. Dropbox integration works just like it does for CloudApp, automatically syncing to the cloud and pasting a public link into your message when you drag and drop a file onto it. You can also keep spam and unwanted newsletters from showing images by designating trusted senders, or choosing to let pictures appear just once. Improved search uses "Gmail-like tokens" so you can search by label, subject, sender, and other search terms. The 1.5 update is free if you already use a full copy of Sparrow, otherwise you can buy it for $9.99 at the App Store, or go with the ad-supported lite version.

Sparrow, the Ideal Mail Client for Mac

Sometimes, trying out beta version of an app can lead to a sore experience that ultimately changes your perception of the app even before developers roll out the final build for public consumption. Something similar happened to me when I installed the first beta of Sparrow Mail around nine months ago. Sparrow, back then, was a Gmail-only client that had taken a leaf out of Tweetie’s book. I abandoned the app after a few betas as the design seemed too minimal & lacking important functionality, marking it as another wannabe mail client for the Mac. I wish I had stayed on to experience the revolution that Sparrow Mail has undergone since its beta days to emerge as one of the best mail clients that we have on the Mac App Store today.

Sparrow has come a long way since its beta days and now supports all IMAP accounts including Gmail, MobileMe, Yahoo and custom IMAP. Sparrow features a three-column layout with accounts occupying the narrow left column, your list of emails in the middle column and mail content filling up the last one. Sparrow retains the minimal ‘Tweetie look’ by having a collapsible third column. The minimal look generated a lot of buzz during the beta days and is still a strong selling point of the app. Moreover, it switches between multiple accounts the same way, but that’s pretty much all the inspiration it takes from Tweetie.

Show Folder Sizes in Mac OS X List View

Show Folder Sizes in Mac OS X List View

      show-folder-sizes-mac

This should probably be enabled by default, but the standard Mac OS X list view setting is to not display the size of folders and their contents. No big deal, this is easily changed:

      • First, make sure to select list view from a Finder window
      • Now open “View Options” from the View menu (or hit Command+J)
      • Select the checkbox next to “Calculate all sizes”

Now when you open any directory in list view, you’ll see the size of directories and their respective contents. This also works with Cover Flow view, but must be set separately through View Options.

      Share. Anything. Fast.

CloudApp allows you to share images, links, music, videos and files. Here is how it works: choose a file, drag it to the menubar and let us take care of the rest. We provide you with a short link automatically copied to your clipboard that you can use to share your upload with co-workers and friends.

Drag and drop files directly from Finder, define a hotkey to trigger an upload of a file or screenshot and print to CloudApp from any application on your Mac.
